Marley is an amazing
cat with an extremely gentle and loving disposition who is ready
to be adopted into a permanent home.
Marley is quite mellow
and content and extremely touch tolerant, often flopping down
on top of your feet begging for affection. Even when the vet dragged
him out of his crate to shave his neck and draw blood from his
throat, he didn't bite, scratch, squirm, hiss or growl. He mews
for attention and cozies up to you to nuzzle and snuggle. He is
a talkative kitty. He bonds with humans he has deemed "safe"
and is not "aloof" or "standoffish" or "snarky",
despite his rough beginnings in this cold world.
**He is excellent with
big dogs**. Marley will not get along with other cats, but could be easily
placed with well-behaved dogs.
Marley
is a sweet tomcat I rescued and nursed to good health. I believe
he was part of a litter born behind a garbage dumpster last spring
and the vet confirmed he is 18-24 months old. Out on the streets, he had no interaction with people and was
terribly thin and fearful. He was unneutered, full of fleas, covered
in bites and scabs and his fur was filty and matted with dirt
and tar. His bones protruded under his fur and he hurriedly gulped
down two cans of cat food in just 3 or 4 huge bites before fleeing
back into hiding. A few mornings I found find him limping, all
haggard and bloody from fighting; fatigued and frazzled, crying
in the bushes. I bought him a crate and placed his food inside
of it, separating him further from the cats in the colony.
With him in his crate
- I shut the door, scooped him up and got him into the vet. I
covered the cost to have him neutered, vaccinated, tested
for leukemia and FIV, microchipped, and he was treated for fleas
and earmites. I brought him inside to recover after surgery
and much to my surprise he wasn't fearful or distrustful of me
or being "trapped" inside. Quite the opposite, he just
melted into my arms so thankful to be in a warm dry safe place
where he didn't need to fight off other animals or run in fear
of every car and person passing by. He seemed to understand that
I was really just trying to help him out of a bad situation.
He has come out of
his shell, healed from his injuries and he's ready for a great
home. Please email me for more details. He truly deserves a forever
home and will thank you every day with his big beautiful emerald
green eyes. While he is a youngster, he comes across as
an old soul who truly values close and constant companionship.
He is not a "hide under the bed" kind of cat, except
during earthquakes! He deserves to be an indoor cat for the rest
of his life, if you are a San Jose or South Bay Area resident, interested in giving him years of unconditional love, please contact
